Desde que o portão da garagem passou a ter abertura automática passei também a carregar nos bolsos mais um comando.
Carregar com todas as chaves de casa, mais as do carro, comando do carro e comando da garagem não é nada simpático.
Depois de consultar o esquema eléctrico do alarme do carro a solução surgiu facilmente.
Como o meu alarme do carro é de pager, o comando dele tem várias funções. Uma delas é de abrir isoladamente a mala.
Sendo o meu carro um comercial e mesmo tendo fecho central, a mala é accionada por chave no exterior ou por alavanca dentro do carro e desde o inicio essa função do alarme ficou sem efeito.
A ideia foi de aproveitar essa saida do alarme mas em vez de abrir a mala do carro acciona o comando da garagem e assim usar apenas o comando do alarme do carro para tudo.
Since the garage door was upgraded with an electric motor i ended on carrying one more remote.
Carrying all house keys plus the car keys and car remote and now a garage remote is not nice.
After checking the car alarm schematic the solution became clear.
Because my car alarm is pager type model, the remote has several functions. One of them is to open the trunk alone.
Being my car a 2 seats version and, although it has a central lock system, the trunk can only be oppened by the car key from the outside or with a handle from the inside and for that reason the trunk function of the alarm was never used.
The idea was to use the trunk output from the alarm to trigger the garage remote instead of use it to open the trunk.
1º passo: Abrir o comando da garagem
O comando da garagem apenas tem um botão activo que serve para abrir/fechar o portão. Seguindo o sinal com um multimetro concluí que o botão fazia contacto com a massa quando premido.
1º step: Open the garage remote
The garage remote has only one active push button that is used to open/close the garage door. Following the trace with an ohmmeter i noticed that the push button when pressed is connected to the ground plane.
2º Passo: Projectar o circuito controlador
Mesmo o comando da garagem usar uma ligação á massa para ser accionado, preferi não ligar directamente ao circuito controlador para não induzir ruidos indesejáveis no comando.
Assim o circuito controlador usa um relé para fazer essa ligação no comando da garagem. O micro-controlador verifica se o alarme do carro coloca a sua saida para a mala a 12V ( quando é accionado remotamente pelo comando do carro ) e verifica um switch a ser instalado na consola para accionar quando dentro do carro.
Um pequeno led indica quando o relé entra em acção.
2º step: Build the controlling circuit
Although the garage remote has a connection to the ground plane when the push button is pressed i decided not to link the controlling circuit directly to prevent unwanted electric noise to go through it.
The controlling circuit has a relay to trigger the garage door remote. A micro-controller checks the car alarm output for 12V ( when the trunk open function is activated using the car alarm remote from the outside ) and checks a push button installed in the car's central console when driving.
A small led indicates when the relay is triggered.
3º Passo: Ligar o circuito controlador ao comando da garagem
A ligação ao comando da garagem é bastante simples. Apenas 2 fios do relé directamente ao switch do comando.
3º step: Connect the controling circuit to the garage door
The connection is very simple. Just 2 wires from the relay directly to the remote's switch.
4º Passo: instalar a extensão do circuito controlador à consola do carro
O carro na sua consola central tem alguns botões que, na minha versão, não são usados.
Dos 5 botões apenas 2 são usados ( aquecimento do vidro traseiro e farois de nevoeiro ). Os restantes são botões falsos.
Fiz 2 furos de 3 milímetros para o switch e para o led e um pouco de cola quente ficando assim uma instalação discreta.
4º step: Install the push button and led in the central console
The central console has some buttons that in my version are not used.
From the 5 buttons only 2 are used ( windows heating and fog lights ). The rest are fake buttons.
I drilled two 3 millimeter holes for the push button and for the led and placed bit of hot glue for a low profile installation.

A testar na bancada:
Foram feitos vários testes, tanto na bancada bem como no carro com ligações provisórias.
Os testes no carro foram necessários porque, uma vez que o circuito eléctrico de um automóvel transporta muito ruido eléctrico, o circuito controlador teria se ser imune.
Testing on the workbench:
Many tests were made on the workbench and in the car with temporary connections.
The tests in the car are necessary because a car's electric circuit is a major source of electric noise and the controlling circuit must be noise free.
5º Passo: Instalar tudo no carro
Depois de vários testes na bancada o circuito controlador e o comando da garagem foram colocados numa pequena caixa.
Da caixa saem os fios para a alimentação directamente a 12V, o cabo para ligar a extensão na consola e o fio para ligação ao alarme.
5º step: Install everything in the car
With all tests completed the controlling circuit and garage door remote were placed inside a small box.
From inside the box i have 2 wires for power to be connected directly to 12V, one cable to connect the push button and led and one wire for the alarm output.
Finalmente pronto.
Esta semana lá tive tempo e paciência para instalar todos os componentes no carro.
