Depois da construção do grilo electrónico da semana passada tive a ideia de lhe mudar ligeiramente o circuito e torná-lo reactivo ao ambiente em que se encontra.
Adicionando um LDR e mudando um pouco o código do micro-controlador, fiz com que o grilo agora reagisse á luz ambiente.
Desta forma o grilo apenas cantará quando se encontra no escuro e se calará quando estiver num ambiente iluminado.
After building last week's electronic cricket, i had the idea of changing a little bit the circuit making it react to it's enviroment.
I added a LDR and modified the firmware of the microcontroller. This way the cricket can sense and react to light.
O LDR foi ligado ao pino 7 do micro-controlador e activado o ADC ( analogue to digital converter ), convertendo o sinal analógico variavel do LDR em digital para o micro-controlador o processar.
The LDR is connected to pin 7 of the microcontroller and the ADC function is activated. The analogue signal from the LDR is converted to digital for the microcontroller be able to process.
Depois de alguns testes de bancada passei ao desenho da placa de circuito impresso.
Na fotografia em baixo está a placa imprimida em papel e em tamanho real.
After some bench tests i started to draw the pcb.
The picture below shows the pcb drawing printed on a paper and it's final size.
Este circuito serve também para pregar algumas boas partidas. Colocando secretamente o grilo num local escondido, ele ficará calado até que chegue a noite e nessa altura começará a cantar. As pessoas a tentar encontrar o grilo irão acender as luzes para o procurar e nessa mesma altura ele se calará de novo.
Por essa razão preferi não colocar o led para assim ele ficar completamente despercebido.
This circuit is good to make some good pranks. Hiding the cricket in a good location, it will be quiet until it gets dark and then it will start to make noise.
People will try to find the source of the noise but everytime they turn on the lights it will be quiet again.
For that reason i decided not to place the led.
